ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - Police have arrested a teenager on Wednesday after allegedly possessing a stolen firearm.
Officers responded to the 200 block of West Cypress Street in reference to an anonymous caller saying there were kids in a vehicle with guns.
According to police, they came in contact with several suspects when they arrived on scene. Police also say one of the suspects was seen tossing an item over a fence, which was recovered by officers.
The item was identified as a firearm. Officers recovered another firearm from a vehicle. It was determined that one of the firearms was reported stolen from Chesapeake in 2017.
Michael Lino Jr.,18, has been charged with Possession of Stolen Firearm and Underage Possession of Firearm in relation to this case.
Lino was given a $3,000 secured bond and a court date of March 16. Lino has been charged previously for Injury to Personal Property in 2018, Assault on School Official in 2019, and Carry Concealed Weapon in 2019.
