With more people falling on hard times, the number of people on food stamps has skyrocketed.
According to a new report from the Congressional Budget Office, since 2007, the amount of food stamp users has jumped to 70 percent.
The feds believe the growth shows no sign of stopping.
They expect the number of users to rise even more in the next two years.
And just how much is the program is costing?
Back in 2007, the Wall Street Journal Reported that it cost 30 billion dollars; that number is now 72 billion.
The feds say though the number of folks using food stamps will still be high, they do expect a slow down after 2014.
