According to Captain Mike Thibeault with the Chesapeake Fire Department, crews responded to reports of a gas odor this morning at G.W. Carver Intermediate School.
Firefighters arrived at Carver Intermediate, located on 2106 Broad Street in Chesapeake, and went through the building. Fire crews found nothing during the investigation – they say the source of the smell was equipment inside the school. Students were evacuated outside the building for 10 minutes.
Officials say all classes and daily activities are happening as usual.
