A mother of four says she’s furious. But she’s also scared of the man terrorizing the Founders Mill community in Gloucester which is why she does not want to be identified.

“The fear is there, that gut feeling— the feeling of someone taking your kid,” the woman says.

Gloucester County Sherriff Darrell Warren says on Wednesday, a man tried to kidnap a 14-year-old girl who was walking around her neighborhood. He says the man asked if she needed a ride. She said no and he chased after her. Eventually, he fell into a ditch and the girl got away.

“We always do research for pedophiles in the area. We go into our database to see if there are any other reports,” Warren adds.

He says last year, there was a similar attempt only a different getaway car. Now the community is back on alert.

Concerned neighbors say, “Thank God that kid ran off. But for that guy to have the audacity to get out of his truck, I dare him. People here, they’re not going to stand for it.”

Deputies are looking for an older man wearing eyeglasses, driving an older white pick-up truck with several dents and papers scattered across the dashboard.
