According to a release from the Isle of Wight courthouse, State and Federal regulations prohibit open burning starting today through September 30, 2012.
The release states that all open burning is prohibited; however, exemptions include firefighter training; campfires or fires for recreational purposes, ceremonies, and outdoor non-commercial preparation of food; and forest management and agricultural practices approved by the State Air Pollution Control Board.
