Republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, and Governor Bob McDonnell will visit Crofton Industries in Portsmouth on Thursday.
According to Bob Crofton, the co-owner of Crofton Industries, Romney will be addressing the topic of offshore drilling and wind energy production.
Crofton said this company is a family owned-company that offers martime services including diving and could benefit from any offshore drilling in state waters.
“They were looking for a place to have a nice view outside, and we have a nice little facility here. It’s going to create a lot of jobs if they do it,” said Crofton.
McDonnell, who will accompany Romney on his visit, has been mentioned as a possible vice-presidential candidate for the upcoming GOP ticket.
Romney’s visit will occur two days before President Barack Obama’s first official campaign visit to Virginia. President Obama will speak at the Siegel Center in Richmond.
