Police say Nakalas Revell had a gun on him and several bags of marijuana.

He was arrested near Lakeland High School in Suffolk Tuesday night.

His father,Cornelius, says his son's name is wrongfully being brought down.

"They treated this thing with my son like he had just murdered the pope or somebody," Cornelius Revell says.

Cornelius isn't trying to defend to his son.

"Did he do these things? Did he have the gun? How can I sit here and act like my son didn't have a gun, my son didn't have marijuana out there? He did have it," says Cornelius Revell.

But Cornelius says his other children have been harassed.

They're being teased at school by people saying Nakalas is a school drug dealer.

He says his son only had a little bit of marijuana on him and no money and wasn't selling it.

"It was 10 o'clock at night; he's in his own neighborhood," Cornelius says.

Cornelius came to NewsChannel 3, not to clear the name of his son, but to clarify what he says really happened.

"He's not a bad person.  Dumb trouble? Yeah, he's that guy," Cornelius Revell says. "How do you get caught in your own neighborhood? He could have done a million things. Walked into his house, done a million things. His head just aint right."
