Four shootings occurred in Newport News this week and now the chief of police there is ready to start talking about it.
He plans on making a statement later this afternoon.
Two people were shot Tuesday afternoon at 22nd street and Chestnut Avenue.
Twenty-six-year-old Brandon Johnson died before he could be taken to the hospital.
The second man was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital. That same day two other people were also shot.
The victims say they were walking down the street when two other people shot at them on 34th street.
One person was hit in the leg and the other was shot in the foot.
They were both taken to the hospital and should be okay.
