A man on a 1, 400-mile journey makes a pit stop in Norfolk.

Lewis Colam is rowing from Miami to New York to raise money for Alzheimer's research.

After he saw the effect of the disease on someone close to him, he decided to take action to try to raise money.

The project has also turned into an adventure.

Lewis is about 1,100 miles into his trip right now.

He says the toughest part is the isolation and solitude.

He spends a lot of time listening to music and audio books while rowing.
