More than one month after an F/A-18 jet crashed into a Virginia Beach apartment complex, residents may finally have the chance to move back in.

NewsChannel 3's Anjali Hemphill is live at Mayfair Mews Apartments on Birdneck Road with more.

According to officials, some residents may be able to move back into their homes as early as Friday, May 11, 2012.

The Navy has finished its final inspections, and Mayfair Mews has told some of the residents they can go back into their homes.

Crews were able to save four of the buildings after the Navy jet crash on April 16, 2012.

This week, new gas and cable lines were installed and utilities were reconnected to the area. Thirty-seven units were not destroyed in the crash, and most of those residents will be moving back in.
