The Isle of Wight sheriff’s office is asking neighbors to take action against crime after thieves stole $6,000 worth of stuff from cars in the past week.
They took wallets, cash, GPS units, DVD players, cell phones and a handgun.
The Isle of Wight sheriff’s office says the thieves struck in Ashby, Founders Pointe, Carrollton Meadows and the Cedar Grove Road areas of Carrollton.
They also hit the Gatling Pointe Community in Smithfield.
In all cases, the cars were unlocked.
