According to a report posted to WDBJ7.com, nationally, the seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate for April was 7.7 percent. Rates dropped from last year in 342 metropolitan areas, increased in 25 and were flat in five.
Arlington County had Virginia’s lowest jobless rate with 3.1 percent in April, followed by 3.7 percent in Fairfax County.
The Danville region had the highest unemployment rate among Virginia’s metropolitan regions at 8.3 percent.
