HOUMA, LA (NBC33) — A bouncer at a bar in Houma, La. is recovering today after he was stabbed in the chest by a patron who was upset that he didn’t get his drink fast enough.
The Houma Police Department responded to the bar located on Main Street just before 1:30 a.m. When they arrived they found that the bouncer at the club had been stabbed.
The suspect, Prince Devon Lewis of Mississippi, stabbed the bouncer after he became upset with a bartender. Lewis alleged that he didn’t get served his drink fast enough and became a disturbance. When the bouncer stepped in to deal with the situation, Lewis allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest area.
Lewis managed to get away before Police arrived. However, he was located by officers near the Main Street overpass.
Officials say Lewis was highly intoxicated when they located him.
Lewis was arrested and charged with Aggravated Second-Degree Battery and was booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. His injury did not appear to be life threatening.
