Trenton, NJ (WPIX) — Rapper and actress Lauryn Hill was charged Thursday with willfully failing to file three years of income tax returns where she earned nearly $2 million, authorities said.

The Grammy award winner, who is fresh off from performing alongside iconic rapper Nas in a memorable set during HOT 97’s Summer Jam Sunday, was charged with three counts of failing to file tax returns.

Each count carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $100.000 fine.

According to U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman, during the calendar years of 2005, 2006 and 2007, Hill earned more than $1.6 million in income which she failed to file tax returns on.

L-Boogie is scheduled to appear on the charges before a judge on June 29.
