The heroes who took action just minutes after an F/A-18 Navy jet crashed into an apartment complex in April will be honored Friday.
Theodore Laffkas and Nicholas Beane will be awarded the Virginia Beach Police Department's citizen's lifesaving award for rushing to the scene and helping cut one of the pilots down and move him to safety.
NewsChannel 3 spoke with Beane in the moments after the crash.
He will be one of 16 Virginia Beach citizens honored tomorrow afternoon for making our community a safer place.
