There’s new hope for 3,000 sailors set to lose their jobs on September 1st.
Some of them might get to retire instead of getting kicked out of the Navy.
Representative Scott Rigell just sent a letter to the chief of Navy personnel.
It asks that all ERB sailors who would reach their 15 year mark by September 30th of 2013 be allowed keep their jobs long enough to earn their retirement benefits.
Currently, only those who reach their 15 year mark this September 1st are eligible.
So far, there has been no response from the Navy.
