The US Food and Drug Administration approved the weight loss aid called Belviq.

It reportedly tricks the brain into making a person feel full after eating small amounts of food.

The drug is approved for use in adults who are obese.

Overweight adults who have at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol may also use it.

The medication is expected to be used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise.

It is expected to be on the market early next year.
