The applicant will be trained to work in various roles within the pipe department in the shipbuilding environment. The training may include: reading blueprints and work packages, brazing pipe joints, tack-welding various materials, using a rule to measure, handling various materials, installing hangers, installing piping systems, fabricating pipe details, putting end preps on pipe components by hand and/or machine, and the understanding of valve configuration and installation. The applicant must be able to work at extreme heights, in confined spaces, be able to kneel, stoop, bend, crawl, climb, and squat frequently on a daily basis, and work any shift. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Experienced applicants preferred.
