A conveyor belt is to blame for a 2-alarm fire at Perdue Farms in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake early Saturday morning.
According to Chesapeake fire department spokesman Captain Scott Saunders, crews were dispatch at 5:28am to Perdue Farms in the 500 block of Barnes Rd.
A 170ft conveyor belt that carries dry goods to the top of storage silos caught fire.
The fire was called under control at 8:15am and there were no injuries.
