Say good-bye to paying a co-pay for the pill.

As of today, 47 million American women will have access to free contraceptives.

That's according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

One part of the Affordable Care Act going into effect today requires insurance companies to provide FDA approved contraceptives at no cost.

Previously, some insured women paid a co-pay or a deductible.
