Virginia Beach police say a young boy is back home safely with his parents after he was found wandering on what they describe as a busy street in Virginia Beach on Thursday morning.
The child was found wandering in the 800 block of Diamond Springs Road. An adult relative visiting from Delaware, 23-year-old Lashyra Bungy, was allegedly watching the little boy when police say she fell asleep.
Police say it took officers about two hours to find the boy's family.
Lashyra Bungy is charged with Child Neglect.
Child Protective Services was also contacted.
Neighbor Jennine Parnell found it hard to imagine if she found out her 3-year-old daughter was found on a busy street corner.
"That's kinda scary because a lot of the people don't pay attention. They speed, you know."
Now Jennine Parnell is trying to wrap herself around this whole situation.
"That's a horrible thought. I just can't even imagine that or understand why."
