Keri lost her husband Navy SEAL, Matt Mills. She is an example of strength. It has been a year since she and the other families have had to say goodbye to their heroes.
Through it all, the Hampton Roads community has stood by them.
“We had so much support. You think they will be here--[they] continued to support and to stand behind us,” says Keri.
This weekend, the same community will be riding behind them. The Extortion 17 Memorial Ride will be one of the biggest motorcycle motorcades from Clutch Bar and Grill in Virginia Beach to Knuckleheads Roadhouse on North Witchduck Road.
They will have a live auction, raffle and live bands.
Firearms, hotel stays, autographed sports memorabilia and a special quilt with the faces of all the 31 will be among the items up for auction.
All proceeds from the ride and auctions will directly help the families of Extortion 17. But really it is about celebrating the lives of these selfless warriors.
