Update: Man wanted for Onancock bank robbery captured

Update: According to Accomack County Sheriff Todd Godwin, on August 3, 2012, a suspect was taken into custody for the August 2 armed robbery that occurred at the Suntrust Bank in Onancock. 

Gregory Donzell Bailey, Jr. has been charged with 2 counts of armed robbery and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a robbery and is now in the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.

According to Sheriff Todd Godwin, on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 12:34 p.m., the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Suntrust Bank in Onancock, Virginia.

When police arrived, they determined that the suspect had run away from the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light to medium complexion, medium build, 5’08 – 5’10, wearing dark colored jeans, a long sleeved light colored shirt, and a black cap.

Virginia State Police, FBI, Onancock Police Department, Onley Police Department, Virginia Marine Police, Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office are working together on the case.
