A construction worker has fallen while working on an elevator shaft Wednesday morning at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
According to Kenneth Ley of the Newport News Fire Department, a man was working on an elevator shaft motor at the new construction site at Riverside Regional Medical Center around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning when he fell.
Officials say the worker fell onto a pad located where they were working. The man suffered what appears to be a relatively minor hip injury, according to officials. The man is at the hospital being checked for broken bones.
