A mother admits to shaking her baby so badly the little girl died.

She entered her guilty plea in court today.

Julie Calahan admits she shook her baby daughter and that resulted in the child's death.

She pleaded guilty in a Virginia Beach court this morning.

Calahan admitted to injuring the 11-month-old in a Facebook conversation with a friend according to the commonwealth's attorney's office.

She moved to Arkansas after her baby died.

In February, she was extradited back to Virginia Beach to face a murder charge.

Baby Lakeira died from shaken baby syndrome in 2009.

She was in her uncle's care when she was rushed to the hospital. She was brain dead.

Her uncle, Stephen Calahan, was arrested and convicted. He served a year in prison for child abuse.

Police say he waited more than an hour to call for help.

Calahan admits her brother-in-law was asleep when she lost her temper and shook Lakeira, who had been crying.

Calahan is set to be sentenced in November.
