This weekend, expect some temporary lane closures in the Kempsville area while repairs are made.

Contractors for Virginia Beach Public Works will be re-wiring traffic signals on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the intersections of Kempsville Road and Brandon Boulevard and Independence Boulevard and Buckner Boulevard.

Work will begin at Kempsville and Brandon at 8 a.m. and will last approximately four hours. Work will begin after that at Independence and Buckner, beginning at 12 noon and lasting approximately two hours.

The traffic signals will not be operating and there will be temporary lane closures in place while the work is being done, so police officers will be present directing traffic at the intersections.

All work should be completed by mid-afternoon on Sunday.

The work is being done as part of the City’s CIP projects.
