This morning in Norfolk – the family of a man who was shot and killed at a Norfolk pharmacy, is telling us about the man they knew, and loved.

They held a candlelight vigil in the parking lot of the Tidewater Drive Rite-Aid, where Ramon Colorado was shot last Thursday.

Police, and the accused gunman, Bernell Duval Benn,  say it started from a fight over a place in line.

During a jail house interview with NewsChannel 3, Benn says the argument got heated; Colorado pepper sprayed him and then fired his gun.

Benn says that`s when he fired back, hitting Colorado, which eventually killed him.

Colorado’s sister, Bonita Houmita, says her brother wouldn`t have fired the first shot.

The question over who fired the first shot will likely determine the outcome of this case.

Norfolk police say Benn fired the first shot after Colorado used the pepper spray on him during that argument.

NewsChannel 3 has been following this story since it happened Thursday afternoon.

Stay tuned for updates.
