Changes could be on the way for Sleepy Hole Park in Suffolk.

Thursday is the last day of a public comment period on a proposal to build a kayak and canoe launch into the Nansemond River in the park.

The public comment is part of a state grant the city has applied for to help fund construction.

Park visitor Victor Lewis says the launch would be a big attraction for the park.

"That would give me more of a reason to come out here because I don`t know too many places where you can come and do that," Lewis explained. "That would definitely get me back out here more often."

Other improvements are also planned for the park, including improving the entrance to the golf course and creating additional parking spots throughout the park.
