Do you want to be able to use your electronics on airplanes? Or does keeping them off during takeoff and landing seem like a good precaution? Someday when you fly, you may be able to read a book on your Kindle, play a game on your iPad, or watch a DVD from gate to gate.
By popular demand, the Federal Aviation Administration is forming a group to review its consumer electronics policies. The FAA now limits these devices because of fears they could interfere with airplane communications and navigation systems.
They will not be looking at the cell phone policy – since that is set by the federal communications – not the FAA. The new group will begin this fall and report back in six months, so don’t expect changes anytime this year. However, the agency is wanting to hear from the public.
