Update:Sadly, NewsChannel 3 has learned that the dog that was rescued from a 17-inch drainage pipe in Suffolk has died.

On Thursday, crews in Suffolk teamed up to rescue a dog that had been trapped for two days in an underground pipe in the 1600 block of Copeland Road.

They say the dog went missing on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, and was discovered inside of a 17-inch drainage pipe on the owners’ property. Fire and Rescue personnel hand-dug a three-foot hole to reach ‘Prissy,’ an elderly Sheltie breed who suffers from brain cancer.

Animal Control Officers assisted in the rescue. Prissy was taken to a veterinarian for evaluation.
