For drivers who take I-264, VDOT just got bonus funding to help with repaving.
On Thursday, the governor announced Virginia received 52 million dollars in bonus funding for transportation projects.
The money will be used for work on I-85 and I-95 in Richmond and on I-264 for repaving.
VDOT says over half of the money has been recommended to come to Hampton Roads.
The money was meant for other states, but since they didn't have projects ready for the funding, the money was given to Virginia.
Even though the recommendation was made for more than half the money to be used on I-264, a final decision will be made by the state transportation board at the end of the month.
