Folks who need to give up their cats are going to have to wait a while.
The shelter says the upper respiratory infection has spread throughout local shelters.
The virus can infect cats through their eyes, nose and mouth.
The shelter will spend the next two weeks caring for the cats they already have and making sure the virus doesn't spread by re-vaccinating.
As of now, the Beach SPCA will begin accepting cats again on Friday, October 12th.
