2PM Update: There is little change in Sandy's strength, she continues to have sustained winds of 75 mph. Tropical storm-strength winds stretch 450 miles from the center of the storm, covering an area from the northern Bahamas to almost the edge of the North Carolina coast.
We are expecting anywhere between 6 and 10 inches of rain in portions of the viewing area along with wind gusts to 60 mph on Sunday and Monday, which could bring down tree limbs and power lines.
The National Hurricane Center is still expecting a storm surge of 3-5 feet for the parts of North Carolina under a Tropical Storm Warning, and a surge of 2-4 feet for the rest of North Carolina and Southeast Virginia, including the lower Chesapeake Bay.
