The City of Suffolk Emergency Operations Center will have a limited activation at 12 p.m. Once activated, the public information number to the Operations Center will be 757-514-4570.
The 700 block of North Main Street from East Constance Road to Holly Lawn Parkway is closed due to high water.
The 200 block of East Constance Road from Katherine Street to North Main Street is closed due to high water.
The Suffolk Visitor Center will close at 1 p.m. today due to the pending severe weather.
Dominion Virginia Power is reporting 132 Suffolk customers are without power as of 10:50 a.m.
Unless conditions make the voting process unsafe for general registrars are encouraged to keep the general registrar office open and continue the in-person voting process. In person absentee voting is available in the Voter Registration Office, located at 440 Market Street.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday hours will be on October 27, 2012, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and November 3, 2012, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
