NORFOLK, Va. – In order to properly align with Force Protection requirements, Naval Station Norfolk will be implementing changes to gate operating hours.
Effective Nov. 16, at 8 p.m., Gate 4 close for the weekend and Gate 22 will become the 24/7 Gate. Gate 4 will be open Monday through Friday 5am to 8pm and closed on Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays. Gate 22 will operate 24 hours, seven days a week.
Additionally, traffic patterns at Gate 4 will be changed during normal operating hours using concrete jersey barriers to calm traffic and deter high-speed approaches.
All personnel are advised to observe the posted speed limit and be aware of a potential change in the traffic pattern when approaching Gate 4, inbound and outbound. Posted outbound speed limit is 15mph.
