Virginia Beach, Va. – Students at Windsor Woods Elementary School honored veterans on Monday morning with a ceremony and flag raising, attended by local military personnel and veterans.
SCA President, Alexandria Hakim, opened the ceremony with a brief history of Veterans Day.
Students then joined voices in the Pledge of Allegiance , followed by a moment of silence in recognition of our country’s heroes.
Music Teacher, Don Burt, lead the students in a rendition of ‘God Bless America’. Dylan Stanford, a fifth grader, closed the ceremony with a reading of ‘They Did Their Share’ by Joanna Fuchs.
