Norfolk, Va. - Norfolk school officials met on Tuesday morning to discuss priorities in funding for schools.

The group talked about funding, school start times, and vouchers.

In the roundtable discussion - members of the school board pointed out that more than 60 percent of Norfolk students are from economically disadvantaged households.

That's why they are asking the state to restore funding to assure all students have the chance to be successful. Norfolk school leaders are also asking lawmakers to stop using proceeds from the state lottery to counter budget cuts.
