Christmas came early for some kids in Virginia Beach. The annual “Cops and Kids” event was held Saturday at the Target by Pembroke Mall.
Santa Claus was there along with local law enforcement to help underpriviledged kids pick out some toys for themselves.
The money is donated by the Fraternal Order of Police. The kids were each given 100 dollars to spend at the Wal-Mart on Jefferson Avenue.
Officers went up and down the aisles with them to help the kids pick out their toys.
50 kids were selected for the shopping trip based on applications they submitted.
