NCDOT: Some ferry routes could be affected by severe weather

RALEIGH — Travelers using ferry routes today, Dec. 26, could encounter suspensions due to high winds caused by a severe weather system.

Strong winds expected today and into tonight may also affect water levels on sounds, rivers and inlets traveled by the ferries.

If you plan to use one of the state’s ferry routes, call ahead to find out if weather has affected operations. The phone numbers are as follows:
