Gibbs teams up with FBI Agent Fornell on a joint NCIS/FBI investigation, and their mutual ex-wife, Diane Sterling gets involved.
I think this episode of “NCIS” was one of the hardest for me to write about. Not because I didn’t like the episode, but because there were so many great lines and funny moments I didn’t take a lot of notes.
Dad: I love episodes with Fornell. It is hilarious to watch Gibbs and Fornell play off each other.
Me: Plus, it’s nice the ex-wife still keeps them on their toes.
Dad: Not Gibbs. She didn’t rattle him like she rattled Fornell.
Me: Except when Gibbs found out she was an agent.
Dad: Well that would scare anyone.
Fornell gets shot at because his ex-wife used his last name to go undercover. What follows had to be one of the most entertaining hours of TV I’ve seen in a while.
Dad: Did you guess the killer right?
Me: Actually, I don’t remember. What was the case?
Dad: … … … I don’t remember either. I was too distracted by the one-liners.
Me: Me too. There were just so many great moments I couldn’t stop laughing.
Dad: Plus I didn’t have to see Jimmy until 38 minutes into the episode.
Me: You actually timed it?!
Dad: Yep (with a sarcastic smile I could sense through the phone).
I know the team ended up getting the bad guy, which is almost always the case. It had to be one of the best “NCIS” episodes I’ve seen in a while. Below I’ve posted some of my favorite scenes.
Tony is interviewing Agent Starling while Gibbs and Fornell watch from the other side of the mirror:
Starling: Are you two afraid to come in here and face me yourselves?
Fornell: I won’t dignify that with a response.
Gibbs: You just did.
Director Vance busts in on Tony’s interrogation of Starling:
Vance: Gibbs, the interrogation is over.
Starling points to the mirror.
Vance: I should have seen that one coming.
Gibbs and Fornell go to McGee’s apartment to get Starling, since she’s staying at his place. They find the two cuddled on the couch asleep.
Fornell: Holy Fourth of July weenie roast! What am I looking at?!
Vance: Agent Starling…
Gibbs: AGENT?!
Fornell: And the Lord wept.
I’m serious guys, if you have a chance to watch this episode then you really should. But be ready for an abs workout from all the laughing!
