DOJ busts large credit card scam ring

Posted

The Department of Justice busted up one of the largest credit card scam rings in the country.

Eighteen people in New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia have been charged with stealing at least 200 million dollars.

We're told the ring invented 7,000 fake identities to get tens of thousands of credit cards!

Twenty-eight states were affected.

NewsChannel 3 called the U.S. attorney's office to see if Virginia and North Carolina were ever involved.

We're still waiting for that answer.
