Newport News, Va. –A man is recovering after police say he shot himself in the thigh
But that’s not the story he told police.
This happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday night at 33rd and Roanoke.
At first, police were called there because a man was reportedly shot during a robbery
But police say the man’s story just didn’t add up.
As they took a closer look, police determined that the man was never robbed and actually shot himself while he was inside his car.
This is all still under investigation.
