According to our sister station WTVR in Richmond, a 68-year-old man took action against crime when he says a man he saw lurking in his backyard approached him and pushed him inside his back door.

The man he saw is believed to be double-murder suspect John Wesley Jeffries of Fredericksburg, who is wanted in connection to the murders of an elderly couple in Fauquier County.

Leonard Mara suffers from chronic pulmonary disease and was carrying around an oxygen tank at the time of the alleged confrontation.

He told WTVR after the man believed to be Jeffries pushed him inside, he instructed Mara to shut up and threatened to kill him.

He told reporters he took his oxygen tank and hit the suspect over the head. He says he then took the suspect and slammed him onto the floor and sat on him.

Jeffries is a registered sex offender with the Virginia State Police.
