Virginia Beach,Va. - When a 9-month old cane corso named Buck was found last week, he had multiple BB gunshot wounds, his right hind leg fractured from being hit with a blunt object and was more than 30 pounds underweight.
"Somebody shot him ten times with a BB gun, if not more than that and there was also some type of trauma to his right rear leg, so was that from a stick or a crow bar? It was something that caused blunt force trauma to his leg," says Wayne Gilbert of Virginia Beach Animal Control.
Buck has had two surgeries to control infection and remove BBs believed to have been inside him for 10 to 14 days.
Thankfully, he is recovering well with antibiotics and gaining weight.
