Norfolk, Va. – VDOT crews will open the Interstate 64 Norview Avenue ramp, in time for morning rush hour on Friday, Mar. 1, 2013.
This new ramp replaces the loop from I-64 east to Norview Avenue east, towards Norfolk International Airport.
This ramp encompasses one part of an interstate improvement project that will enhance safety at the interchange by removing the existing weave and provide an easier movement from I-64 east to Norview Avenue.
At this time, motorists will be able to access the airport by either the new ramp or the existing loop; however, in early March the old loop will be closed and demolished.
Crews have also placed new mile marker signs along the interstate noting the distance to the exit ramp. The entire project is slated for completion in fall 2013.
