Man robbed at gunpoint on Roanoke Island

Roanoke Island, NC – Dare County law enforcement officials are searching for three suspects after a man was robbed at gunpoint on Roanoke Island.

According to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, on February 23, 2013, at about 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to a reported armed robbery call in the area of Sarah Mae Carver Lane and Scarborough Street, Roanoke Island.

When law enforcement officials arrived, the victim told them he had been robbed at gunpoint by two black males and one black female.

The victim also stated that the suspect’s weapon was discharged when a struggle ensued during the incident.

No injuries have been reported.

Suspects are described as two black males and one black female. Deputies say one male and the female were slim in stature and the other black male was described by the victim as obese. The victim told officials that the male suspects were wearing “hoodie” style coats that obscured their facial features.
