Students return to Ruffner Academy Middle School after bomb threat

Norfolk, Va. – Students are returning to Ruffner Academy Middle School this morning after being evacuated over a bomb threat.

According to Norfolk Fire and Rescue the threat was called in to the school from a blocked number shortly after 8am.

School administrators took the threat seriously and quickly pulled the fire alarm to evacuate the school.

Students were bused to Booker T. Washington High School while Norfolk Fire and Police along with the bomb squad swept the building with bomb-sniffing dogs. No explosives were found.

There are approximately 740 students at the school.
