Crews say they will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and tidal forecasts for potential impacts to the Midtown Tunnel in Norfolk.
Expected tide levels for Thursday morning, combined with high winds and residual water could require crews at the Midtown Tunnel to lower the tide gate in order to prevent its flooding.
The next high tide cycle will be at 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning. ERC crews will remain on standby to lower the tide gate ahead of high tide if flood conditions become likely.
