Reports: Four dead eagles found on Eastern Shore, one treated for lead

Eastern Shore, Va. –Four deceased eagles were found over the weekend on the Eastern Shore according to the Virginia Wildlife Center of Virginia’s website.

On Saturday, an immature Bald eagle was taken to the Wildlife Center.

Tests determined that the eagle had an elevated level of lead inside of its body. The levels were not critical but the eagle was treated according to the website.

Several metal fragments were found in its digestive tract.  They say the eagle has been a little brighter and more alert since the treatment started.
