Crews continue to monitor gas leak in Norfolk at Ballentine construction site

Norfolk, Va.--Crews are still on the scene of a gas leak at a construction site in the 3000 block of Ballentine Blvd.

They were called out for a gas leak at around 4:40 p.m. on Thursday.

A 12-inch steel main was struck by some construction equipment crews say.

Units are now on the scene from Virginia Natural Gas.

Ballentine from East Princess Anne to Dogan Street is closed for now as crews work to locate a valve to shut down the leak.

There are no injuries reported and no one had to evacuate.
